When Maralyn Tigue and her husband first got married, they borrowed some capital from their relatives and applied for a bank loan to open a hollow block business. From their loans, they purchased a delivery truck and a hauler but their production was limited and they could not always meet the demand of a big construction firm. Maralyn then joined a microlending organization but was frustrated with their work ethic so when she heard about Mentors Cebu she moved to its program.

Maralyn received an $83 loan and was soon able to meet the demand of the construction firm. After several loan cycles, MaralynŐs business is now earning at least $250 per week. Today, she is happy that she and her husband will be able to send their kids to a good school and provide them with more nutritious food because of Mentors' help.
